LIFE University Starts 9-10am

Life Univ. is the adult focused environment that will be created weekly during the LIFE Equipping hour (9-10am, before the Central Gatherings Sunday mornings).  LIFE U. will be made up of a variety of classes that will typically be presented in 6 week sessions.  Here is the list of LIFE U. offerings for the first 6 week fall session of 2008 (August 24 – September 28).  Sign up for a class starting today!  You can sign up via writing it in on your welcome card or by emailing newhope@newhopeks.org.

1) Christian Growth Principles (Teacher: Todd Stewart) – This course is designed to introduce participants to the grace-based, intentional process of growth we are called to as disciples of Jesus.  Participants will come away better understanding the growth process, and will also have some handles on essential growth practices.

2) Pop Culture, People, & the Heart of God (Teacher: Dee Anne Anderson) – This course will address questions like: Is there anything redeeming in American culture today?  Is there truth in secular media?  How can movies, television, music, art, websites, sporting events and comic books help us build community with people who resist talking about God and spiritual issues?

3) Personal Financial Management (Teachers: Bob & Sandie Anderson) – This course is designed to develop a God-centered perspective on our finances.  Participants will come away better understanding God’s perspective on giving, debt, retirement, and various other topics of interest. There will be a $15 charge for materials with this course.
